Successful demonstration of the feasibility of an insect scanner at DanMAX

Look at the x-ray images below!

September 29, 2024

This 3D map of a fly demonstrates that high quality x-ray images may be acquired, with a pixel size of 550 nm, despite the pin still being in place. The full phase contrast tomography scan took 90 seconds. This confirms the feasibility of establishing a dedicated high throughput insect scanner at the DanMAX beamline in Lund, with the help of robots. This work is a collaboration between DaSSCo partner institutions.
